Marketing support

Screen Australia Marketing supports the production community through diverse marketing activity encompassing distribution, business facilitation, professional development, promotion and screen culture.

Our activities reflect our underlying philosophy – an integrated focus on audience and market awareness across the process from idea to screen.

The funding programs in this section do not represent the full range of Screen Australia’s marketing activities, simply the programs to which the industry can apply for financial support. See also the Market Intelligence section for information on international festivals and markets, as well as professional development seminars, forums and more.

Funding programs

Domestic:

  • Theatrical P&A – loans to established distributors to enhance a film’s marketing campaign and increase both audience and revenue.

  • Innovative Distribution - grants to experienced distributors for potential slates of projects focusing on non-traditional and innovative release strategies.

  • Australian Festivals, Special Events and Conferences – grants to stage established film festivals, national touring programs, and major standalone conferences and special events.

International:

These programs were released on 26 July 2010, following a general review which took into account industry feedback received in 2009, a reduced government appropriation and the changing market environment.
