Experimenta: Utopia Now

Experimenta Utopia Now International Biennial of Media Art chases the dream of a perfect world. Showcasing more than 35 works from countries including Australia, Japan, Austria, India, Germany, Canada, France, Taiwan and the UK, Experimenta Utopia Now critiques the scope for happiness on earth as we know it, pokes fun at social and physical boundaries and questions the human race’s ability to preserve itself.

In The Raw: Rockpool
5 December, 6pm for 6.30pm start, Richard Wherrett Studio, Sydney Theatre, Hickson Rd, Walsh Bay, Sydney.
FREE event, advance registration essential as capacity is limited.
Rockpool with writer/director Sonia Whiteman and producer Karen Radzyner of Dragonet Films is the final In The Raw live script reading in 2011. It’s a story about famous rock couple Slightly and Kat, The Decks, who have been torn apart by the death of their son Tom. Slightly is in denial and going the way of Charlie Sheen when he finds out that Kat is pregnant.

The Hungry Tide - Q&A Events

This feature documentary is a personal story about a Kiribati woman living in Sydney who has the task of alerting the world to her sinking Pacific homeland - a country on the front line of climate change.
These screenings will be followed by a special Q&A session.
